SERENE SEASHELL CUBE
This arrangement is a staple of mine. Like a favourite food recipe it’s quick and easy to make. You will need minimal flowers and it always looks great, a perfect table centre. It is ideal for using up the last flowers in a bouquet once the others have faded.
You will need:3 large white roses
7 large shells
Mini shells
Glass cube vase
White pillar candle
Three quarters of a block of florists foam*
Plastic candle holder*
String to tie the shell around the vase
* Available from good florists
Step 1: Start by soaking the florists foam in water until the bubbles stop.
Place the foam in the centre of the cube and pour the mini shells into the gap between the foam and the glass side. Make sure your foam is completely covered by the shells. Push the candle holder into the centre of the foam, then push the candle into the holder.
Step 2:Cut the roses to 15cm with a clean diagonal cut. Push the stems into the foam and arrange around the candle. (I always feel slightly guilty cutting them so short, the good thing is this will make them last longer)
Step 3:Next add the large shells (saving one to tie onto the front of your vase). I have placed mine between the roses in groups of 2.
Top up with a little water every other day. This arrangement will look good wherever you display it, for a real relaxing treat use it to decorate your bedroom or bathroom.
JANEY'S TOP TIPS:
Once the roses have faded simply remove them and replace with another flower. Remember not to let your florists foam dry out.
