HAND TIED BOUQUET
I am always being asked how to make one of these, so I have put together a simple step by step recipe for the perfect hand tie. They are ideal as gifts, ready to display in a vase.
You will need:5 Euphorbia
5 Hydrangea foliage
5 Astilbe
5 Antirrhinum
5 Nerines
5 Buttermilk roses
5 Peach roses
Step 1:First unwrap your flowers, snip the stems and allow them to drink for a couple of hours. This is called conditioning.
Remove any leaves below the binding point.
Start by holding 1 stem of Hydrangea foliage, Euphorbia and Antirrhinum together in 1 hand. Add each stem one by one at an angle to these.
Step 2:Add 1 stem of each flower and foliage in order. This will ensure your flowers are evenly spaced through your bouquet.
Make sure you keep adding your stems at the same angle. You should now start to see a wheatsheaf effect on the base of the stems.
Step 3:Make sure you have no gaps and check your flowers are evenly spaced through the bouquet.
Tie the binding point firmly with twine.
Trim the stems so they are even.
Step 4:I love finishing touches
This one makes the best use of a broken rose.
Simply tie the stem firmly on the binding point just below the rose head with the twine.
JANEY'S TOP TIPS:
To make your bouquet extra special choose scented foliage. I love aromatic Eucalyptus and Rosemary. Not forgetting Pine for Christmas.
